Smoke vents are available with two actuation systems: Electric actuation — operating on electric actuators up to 24V DC, triggered automatically by a smoke sensor or manually via a fire alarm button; and Pneumatic actuation — using cylinders that operate independently of the building electrical supply, providing resilience in power-failure scenarios. Both systems incorporate a mechanical interlock that guarantees vent opening under emergency conditions even in extreme heat or if the primary actuation system fails.
